ADP: unemployment rate in the U.S. in August rose more than expected

Data provided by Automatic Data Processing (ADP) showed that the rate of employment growth in the US private sector slowed in August, but was slightly above forecasts of experts.

According to the report, in August the number of employed increased by 177 thousand, compared with a revised upward index for July at 194 thousand (originally reported growth of 179 thousand). Analysts had expected the number of employed will increase by 175 thousand

If we analyze in terms of size of companies among small businesses employment increased by 63 thousand (among those where from 1 to 19 employees by 24 thousand, while among companies with 20-49 employees, the number increased to 38 thousand). With regard to medium-sized businesses (50-499 employees), employment increased by 44 thousand persons. Large enterprises (500 and more than 1,000 employees), meanwhile, increased the number of employees by 70 thousand (companies with 500 to 999 employees increased employment by 25 thousand, and enterprises with over 1,000 employees increased employment by 46 thousand).

In addition, the data showed that in the sector cut the number of employees among companies in the production of goods decreased by 6 thousand, whereas among those who provide services, rose to 183 thousand.

If the rate of growth by industrial sectors, we can see the following picture: construction -2 thousand, trade 0, trade/transportation/utilities +26 thousand, financial activities +15 THD, professional/business services +53 thousand
