Atlanta fed President Fernando Bostic : Hurricanes will hit the U.S. economy



The head of the Federal reserve Bank of Atlanta Rafael Bostic said Wednesday that start lowering the balance with the Central Bank is going well, partly because the US economy is in a good position to cope with the shift in monetary policy.

He also said that recently struck the U.S. the hurricane will not hit the us economy.

“Despite the fact that this unprecedented scale of policy no doubt, there is good reason to believe that the effects of gradual and predictable reduction in carrying amount to be weaker than the effects measured by the expansion of the balance, said Mr. Bostic. – Although I don’t expect that in the coming months, financial market conditions will be significantly affected by balance sheet reductions, I, like my colleagues, will monitor financial markets for any changes in financial conditions that can impact on the macroeconomy”.
