Today, October 10, Walmart (WMT) will hold its annual meeting with the investment community, during which company representatives will discuss progress against its strategic initiatives.
In its presentation materials to the event, the company confirmed earnings guidance for FY 2018 of $4.30-4.40 per share, against the average analysts ‘ forecast of $4.38.
In addition, the company reported that in FY 2019 expect to see a 5% yoy growth in the earnings per share to $4.52-4.62. Analysts ‘ average forecast implies a profit of $4.62 per share. The consolidated revenue is expected to increase by 3% yoy, mainly due to growth in the segment of online sales. Analysts ‘ average forecast assumes an increase in sales by 2.2%.
The company also announced a new stock repurchase program worth $20 billion, which will replace the existing program.
The company expects that capital expenditures will total about $11 billion in 2018 and FY 2019.
Shares of WMT rose in premarket trading to $82.26 (+2.15%).
