Deflation in Russia from 1 to 7 August was 0.1%




For the period from 1 to 7 August 2017, according to Rosstat, Russia recorded a decline in prices by 0.1%. Since the beginning of August prices fell by 0.1%, YTD inflation stood at 2.3%. In August 2016, inflation was zero, with the beginning of the year to 3.9%.

Over the past week reduction of prices for fruit and vegetables on average amounted to 3,9%, including on cabbage – 12.1%, potatoes, onions, carrots, tomatoes and cucumbers –by 4.9-to 7.5%.

Eggs became cheaper by 0.9%, pasta – by 0.5%, millet – by 0.2%. At the same time the price of beef, mutton, boiled sausage, canned meat, frozen fish, butter, sunflower oil, bread, sugar, and salt have increased by 0.1-0.2%.

Prices for motor gasoline and diesel fuel practically have not changed.
