Deflation in Russia in August 2017, according to Rosstat, amounted to 0.5%. Since the beginning of the year inflation amounted to 1.8%. In August 2016, inflation was zero, with the beginning of the year to 3.9%.
In annual terms inflation in August 2017 was 3.3% versus 3.9% in July.
In January 2017, the inflation was 0.6% in February 0.2% in March and 0.1% in April and 0.3 percent in may and 0.4% in June and 0.6% in July and 0.1 percent.
Core consumer prices in August this year amounted to 100,1%.
Prices for food products in August 2017 fell 1.8%, on articles of food without fruit-and-vegetable production has not changed. Non-food goods prices rose by 0.1%, prices for services for the month rose 0.4%.
In August, in 72 subjects of the Russian Federation (except the Autonomous districts included in the region) consumer goods and services fell by 0.1-1.3 percent as a result of lower prices for food products by 0.3% to 3.8%. The most significant decrease of prices and tariffs was marked in the consumer market of the Republic of Kalmykia and the Tver region – 1.3% and 1.2% respectively.
At the same time in 8 constituent entities of the Russian Federation (except the Autonomous districts included in the region) growth in consumer prices for goods and services was 0.1% or more, of them in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) – 0,7% in connection with increase of tariffs for services of 2.8%.
The cost of a conventional (minimal) set of food products per month in Russia on average at the end of August 2017 amounted to 3839,9 ruble and compared with the previous month decreased by 5.6% (from the beginning of the year grew by 4.1%).
