France producer prices declined in April

The statistical office Insee showed that producer prices in the domestic market fell by 4.1 per cent annual rate in April after easing to 4 percent in March.

Producer prices fell by 0.5 percent compared to the previous month, influenced by the further falling prices of mining and quarrying products, energy and water.

Producer prices in all markets, including French market and foreign markets, fell 0.3 percent, down from growth of 0.2 percent in March. On an annual basis, producer prices fell by 3.9% mainly due to a sharp drop in oil prices.
