Economic growth of Portugal in the first quarter was stronger than previously thought, showed on Tuesday revised data of the statistical office of Portugal.
Gross domestic product rose 0.2 percent from the fourth quarter, when the economy expanded at the same pace. Initially, quarterly growth was estimated at 0.1 percent.
The growth rate in annual terms for the first quarter was revised up to 0.9 percent from 0.8 percent previously calculated. In the fourth quarter of last year the economy grew by 1.3 percent.
External demand had a negative impact on growth, while positive contribution from domestic demand declined, the report said the Agency.
