Retail sales in the U.S. in July increased by 0.6%



According to a report by the Commerce Department, retail sales in the U.S. in July increased by 0.6% compared with the previous month.

Analysts had predicted an increase of 0.3%.

In June, retail sales rose 0.3% (revised (-0.2%).

Excluding car sales, retail sales in July increased by 0.5% after rising 0.1% in June (revised (-0.2%).

Analysts had forecast growth in June by 0.3%.
