Retail sales in the U.S. in may decreased by 0.3%



According to a report by the Commerce Department, retail sales in the U.S. in may decreased by 0.3% compared with the previous month.

Analysts had predicted an increase of 0.1%.

In April, retail sales were up 0.4%.

Over the last 12 months the index rose by 3.8%.

Excluding car sales, retail sales in may fell by 0.3% after rising 0.4% in April (revised from +0.3%).

Analysts had forecast growth in may increased by 0.2%.
