The consumer price index (CPI) in the UK in September increased by 3% in annual terms, after rising 2.9% a month earlier.

Indicator data matched the forecast of analysts.

Basic consumer price index in the UK that excludes food and energy prices (core CPI) in September rose by 2.7% in annual terms, following a similar increase of 2.7% in August.
