The net outflow of capital from Russia in January-August rose to $12.1 billion

Net capital exports by the private sector in January-August of 2017, according to preliminary estimates of the Bank of Russia, formed at the level of $12.1 billion versus $7.2 billion in January-August 2016.

“Unlike last year, the banking sector acted as a net exporter of capital, while continuing to repay its external obligations. Other sectors, on the contrary, ensured the inflow of investment in the economy in the form of attracting funds of non-residents with a marked reduction in demand for foreign assets”, – stated in the materials of the Central Bank.
