The number of initial claims for unemployment benefits in the U.S. last week rose by 17 thousand



According to a report by the U.S. Department of labor, the number of initial claims for unemployment benefits in the U.S. for the week ended 20 January, increased by 17 thousand compared to the previous week and amounted to 233 thousand

Analysts had expected the headline number will be 239 thousand compared to the originally announced 220 thousand at the end of the previous week.
