The unemployment rate in Switzerland decreased in September



The unemployment rate in September fell slightly to 3.1% from 3.2% in August. Economists had expected the unemployment rate to drop to 3.3%.

Unemployment – indicator published by the Swiss State Secretariat for economic Affairs (SECO) and measure the ratio of the number of unemployed to the total working age population. The decline indicates a steady growth in the labor market of Switzerland. As a consequence, this leads to the strengthening of the Swiss economy.

It also became known that the number of unemployed from the previous month decreased by 1,594 people to 140 535 in September. Not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Switzerland in September remained stable at the level of 3.0%.
