The volume of trading in bonds in August increased 1.8 times – up to 1.6 trillion rubles




The volume of trades on corporate, regional and government bonds in August 2017 on the Moscow stock exchange increased by 1.8 times and amounted to 1643,9 billion (890,7 bln rubles in August 2016). The average daily trading volume accounted for 71.5 billion (38.7 billion rubles in August 2016), according to the materials of the exchange.

In August the stock market of the Moscow exchange placed 38 bond issues, the volume of placement amounted to 1598,7 billion (including the volume of one-day bonds amounted to 1066,1 billion).

The trading volume in shares, Depositary receipts and shares increased by 26.3% to 808,8 billion compared to 640,3 billion in August 2016. The average daily trading volume amounted to 35.2 billion (27.8 billion rubles in August 2016).

The volume of trading in derivative financial instruments on the Moscow stock exchange in August 2017 amounted to 7.3 trillion rubles (9.1 trillion rubles in August 2016) or 142,1 million contracts (160,0 million contracts in August 2016). The trading volume of futures contracts amounted to 136,1 million contracts, option contracts 6.1 million contracts.

The volume of open positions on the derivatives market at the end of the month reached 944,2 billion (of 702.9 billion in August 2016).

The volume of trading in the foreign exchange market rose by 19.1% to 30.4 trillion (25,5 trillion rubles in August 2016), including a cash settlement (spot) to 6.4 trillion rubles, swap and forwards – is 24.0 trillion.

The average daily trading volume on the currency market of the Moscow exchange amounted to 1322,1 billion, or 22.2 billion U.S. dollars, compared with 1109,7 billion or 17.1 billion US dollars in August 2016.

The total trading volume on the money market increased by 36.9% to 43,0 trillion roubles (of 31.4 trillion rubles in August 2016), the average daily volume of transactions amounted to 1869,0 billion (1365,1 billion in August 2016).

The volume of trading in the modes repo with the Central counterparty (CC) was 19.4 trillion rubles (17.4 trillion rubles in August 2016).

The total volume of trading precious metals in August 2017 increased by 77,3% to 18.2 billion (10.3 billion rubles in August 2016). Including trading volume in gold – 18.2 billion rubles (7.4 t), silver – 5,0 million roubles (155 kg).

The total trading volume of agricultural products (grain, sugar) at the end of August was 523,4 million.
