The volume of trading in bonds in December rose to 2.3 trillion rubles




The total trading volume in all markets of the exchange by the end of 2017 increased to 887,6 trillion rubles (850,4 trillion rubles in 2016), said a press release of the Moscow Exchange.

Best trend recorded in the bond market (the growth amounted to 25.3% excluding one-day bonds), money market (+13.0 per cent) and currency market (+5.4 percent).

Trading volume on the stock market in December 2017 has reached 2 918,6 billion roubles in comparison with 2 928,3 billion in December 2016 (excluding one-day bonds).

The trading volume in shares, Depositary receipts and shares amounted to 659,0 billion (982,6 billion in December 2016). The average daily trading volume was $ 31.4 billion (44.7 billion rubles in December 2016).

The volume of trades on corporate, regional and government bonds increased by 16.1% and amounted to 2 259,6 billion (1 945,6 billion in December 2016). The average daily trading volume of 107.6 billion (88.4 billion rubles in December 2016).

In December the stock market of the Moscow exchange placed 74 of the bonds placement volume made 1 948,6 billion (including the volume of one-day bonds amounted to 766,0 billion).

Trading volume on the derivatives market in December 2017 was 6.0 trillion roubles (8,4 trillion rubles in December 2016) or 111.2 million contracts (145.2 million contracts in December 2016). The trading volume of futures contracts amounted to 105.5 million contracts, option contracts – 5.7 million contracts.

The volume of open positions on the derivatives market at the end of the month made up of 702.9 billion (639,0 billion in December 2016).

The volume of trading in the foreign exchange market amounted to 29.8 trillion rubles (31,0 trillion rubles in December 2016), including a cash settlement (spot) – 5,9 trillion roubles, swap and forwards amounting to 23.8 trillion rubles. The volume of trading in the foreign exchange market in dollar terms increased by 2% and amounted to 507,9 billion (498,1 billion dollars in December 2016).

The average daily trading volume on the currency market of the Moscow exchange amounted to 1 416,7 billion or 24.2 billion U.S. dollars, compared with 1 407,2 billion in December 2016.

Trading volume on the money market amounted to 28.2 trillion (41.7 per trillion roubles in December 2016), the average daily volume of transactions – 1 341,5 billion (1 896,5 billion in December 2016).

The volume of trading in the modes repo with the Central counterparty (CC) amounted to 16.9 trillion rubles (21,4 trillion rubles in December 2016).

The volume of trading in precious metals in December 2017 amounted to 8.1 billion (10.2 billion rubles in December 2016). Including the volume of trading gold and 8.1 billion (3.4 tons), silver – 3.7 million rubles (121.8 kg).

The total trading volume of agricultural products (grain, sugar) at the end of December amounted to 1057,1 million.
